Knox Net Zero
Together for a safe climate and healthy future

Knox City Council declared a climate emergency and recognised the need for collective action to reduce environmental impact. While both residents and the council have made efforts to reduce emissions, a united community approach would be more effective. In response, the Council developed the Climate Response Plan 2021-2031, which outlines specific targets and actions to reach net zero emissions by 2040 in partnership with the community.

Bringing visibility to climate initiatives and empowering residents to take action

Key Goals

  • Engagement: Create a sense of involvement, making residents feel part of the journey to net zero.

  • Motivation: Inspire community members to take action and champion the cause in their own initiatives.

  • Versatility: Develop a brand that will support the campaign long-term and can evolve through 2031.

  • Empowerment: Give hope to the community, fostering a belief that everyone can contribute to solutions for climate change.

Design Process

3 options were provided as concepts, based on creative themes taken from councils Climate Response Plan. Each design had different styles, textures, icons and colours.
